Vital is a digital platform designed to address the gender bias in medical research, with the ultimate goal of improving healthcare outcomes for women through accessible data and information.

2. Problem statement:

Women are underrepresented in the data driving our healthcare system.

This disparity has multiple consequences on women's healthcare:

1. Women are far more likely than men to be misdiagnosed
2. It takes longer for women to receive a diagnosis
3. It takes longer for women to begin treatment

3. Research and concept validation**:**

Secondary research revealed alarming statistics about gender bias in clinical trials. Many clinical trials are composed mainly of men, and the results are generalized to women. When gender bias influences study design, participant recruitment, or data analysis, it can lead to inadequate representation of women and a limited understanding of how medical interventions affect them.

We interviewed 42 patients and providers.
